Personalized School and District Support
RUSMP evaluates the effectiveness of mathematics programs, makes recommendations for improvement, and provides targeted professional development and school-based support to improve student achievement.
Annual RUSMP Summer Campus Program
RUSMP offers its intensive four-week professional development program each June for teachers from pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade. Teachers gain content and pedagogical knowledge that have been shown to improve instruction and student achievement.
Academic-Year Courses for Teachers and Teacher Leaders
RUSMP offers professional development and Gifted and Talented credit courses during the fall and spring semesters. Course offerings include:
- Developing the Measurement Strand for K-5 Teachers
- The Measurement Strand for K-9 Teachers
- The Numeration Strand for K-8 Teachers
- Algebra for Elementary Teachers
- Algebra I for Middle School Mathematics Teachers
- Geometry for Elementary Teachers
- Geometry for Middle School Teachers
- 3-D Visualization for K-8 Teachers
- Advanced Topics in Mathematics for Middle School and High School Mathematics Teachers
- Data Analysis, Probability, and Statistics for Middle School and High School Mathematics Teachers
- Calculus for High School Mathematics Teachers
Other courses are developed based upon the needs of partner schools or school districts.
RUSMP Workshops and Short Courses
RUSMP customizes mathematics professional development for schools and districts at all levels based on identified needs. Examples include workshops in mathematics content, appropriate technology use in mathematics classrooms and the development of leadership skills for mathematics professionals.
