The
Evaluation Center is a research and development unit
that provides national and international leadership
for advancing the theory and practice of evaluation,
as applied to education and human services.
LRDC
is a multidisciplinary research center whose mission
is to understand and improve learning by children and
adults in the organizational settings in which they
live and work: schools, museums, and other informal
learning environments and workplaces. Fields of research
include: processes of learning: learning in schools
and museums; educational improvement; education policy
and practice; learning and technology; and learning
and work.
The
NCRTL's mission is to be the leader in the field of
teacher education research.
The
Wisconsin Center for Education Research is one of the
oldest, largest and most productive education research
centers in the world. WCER provides a productive environment
where some of the country's leading scholars conduct
basic reason and applied educational research. The WCER
roster includes nearly two dozen research centers and
projects that are currently investigating a host of
topics germane to education.

National
Government Resources
Part
of the U.S. Department of Education, NCES is the
primary federal entity for collecting and analyzing
data that are related to education the United States
and other nations. NCES fulfills a congressional mandate
to collect, collate, analyze, and report complete statistics
on the condition of American education; conduct and
publish reports; and reviews education activities internationally.
Continuing
a tradition that began in 1867 with the creation of
the original U.S. Department of Education, the Department
shares the latest research findings, statistics, and
information on education with parents, teachers, school
board members, policy makers, and the general public
in order to help state and local decision makers improve
their schools.
The
purpose of this service is to provide easy access to
current Federal social statistics. It provides links
to information produced by a number of Federal
agencies. All of the information included in the Social
Statistics Briefing Room is maintained and updated by
the statistical units of those agencies. All the estimates
for the indicators presented in the Federal Statistics
Briefing Room are the most currently available values.

Spencer Foundation is a private foundation that grants
funds to support research which contributes to the understanding
of education and improvement of its practice
The
PEW Charitable Trusts is a national philanthropy supporting
work in six program areas--culture, education, environment,
health and human services, public policy, and religion.
In addition the Venture Fund supports independent projects
that take an interdisciplinary approach to broad issues
of significant interests of concern.
The
W.K. Kellogg Foundation is a nonprofit organization
whose mission is " to help people help themselves
through the practical application of knowledge and resources
to improve their quality of life and that of future
generations." Since its beginning, the Foundation
has continuously focused on building the capacity of
individuals, communities, and institutions to solve
their own problems.

Organizations and Centers
The
American Educational Research Association is concerned
with improving the educational process by encouraging
scholarly inquiry related to education and by promoting
the dissemination and practical application of research
results.
Created
in 1985, CPRE unites researchers from five of
the nation's leading universities to improve
elementary and secondary education through research
on policy, finance, school reform, and school governance.
This
site offers information about the ENC and its products
and services. The ENC works to disseminate effective
materials and teaching methods to mathematics and science
teachers nationwide.
JRME
Online is the Web-based version of the Journal for Research
in Mathematics Education. It is an official journal
of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics
The
Regional Educational Laboratories are educational research
and development organizations supported by contracts
with the U.S. Education Department, Office of Educational
Research and Improvement.
