Annual Fall and Spring Networking Conferences

RUSMP has hosted annual Fall and Spring Networking Conferences since 1987 at which distinguished educators speak and RUSMP alumni, Master Teachers, and Support Teachers make presentations to share new resources and teaching ideas. A luncheon for all present provides a networking mechanism for the various summer and academic-year programs.

This year's Spring Networking Conference was held at Duncan Hall on the Rice University campus, and featured Dr. Robin A. Ward, Associate Director for Curriculum Integration at RUSMP, and Dr. Nita Copley, Professor of Curriculum and Instruction at the University of Houston's College of Education.

See Robin's literature list, Robin's presentation, Nita's presentation, pictures from the networking conference, and session listings from prior networking conferences.

RUSMP has offered graduate courses during the academic year. These rigorous courses help develop pedagogy that will allow teachers to provide students with a foundation for future studies in mathematics and to challenge and motivate students. The courses are open to teachers in the Houston area.

Technology Training and Workshops

RUSMP provides a variety of workshops focused on helping teachers effectively use technology in the classroom. These workshops are customized to help meet the specific needs of teachers and include training in the appropriate use of calculators at the elementary level, the use of graphing technology and data collection devices at the secondary level in both math and science and the use of computer software applications at all levels.
